Severe flooding along the Jamuna River in Tangail left hundreds of families in the Shushua Char area isolated and cut off from food, clean water, and medical care for weeks. In response, Human Concern International (HCI), in partnership with the non-governmental organization Susilone, delivered urgent humanitarian aid to 475 flood-affected families.
Under the “Emergency Relief for Flood-Affected People in Shushua Char” project, each family received essential food and hygiene supplies including rice, lentils, flour, oil, salt, potatoes, sugar, detergent, soap, sanitary napkins, oral rehydration saline, spices, and water purification tablets. Families were also provided with 20-litre water jars to ensure access to safe drinking water.
This vital intervention helped restore stability for hundreds of vulnerable families, enabling them to meet their most basic needs during one of the most challenging times of the year.
HCI remains committed to its mission of supporting disaster-affected communities across Bangladesh, from emergency relief to long-term recovery and rebuilding.
Together with compassionate supporters, HCI can continue helping families recover and restore their lives.
