Healing Touch: Providing Urgently Needed Surgeries in
Gaza
Help us restore health and dignity to Gaza’s most vulnerable.
The people of Gaza are living through a humanitarian emergency. Years of blockade, recurring violence, and a recent large-scale offensive have pushed the health system to the brink.
Hospitals have been destroyed, medical staff are overwhelmed, and thousands of families are left without access to basic healthcare.
Among the most pressing needs is access to urgently needed surgeries. Many patients, especially children, women, and the elderly, are living in pain, at risk of complications, or unable to resume daily life due to delayed or cancelled procedures.
Today, only 44 percent of hospitals in Gaza are partially functioning. Most lack supplies, power, and enough staff. For vulnerable patients, even accessing basic surgical care has become a daily struggle.
Our Response
The Healing Touch Project
With your support, HCIand Dr.Abou-Shakra is launching the Healing Touch project to provide urgently needed surgical procedures for 103 patients from displaced and vulnerable families in Gaza City.
These procedures range from urgent interventions to essential surgeries that patients have been waiting months to receive. Every surgery helps someone heal, regain strength, and reclaim their dignity.
This project focuses on:
Children needing surgery to recover from injury or illness
Women requiring gynecological procedures
Elderly individuals suffering from untreated medical conditions
Vulnerable patients living in displacement with no access to care
